This workshop will be a three-part experience. Students will enjoy two mornings of Tangkao’s Yoga Synergy classes. In the afternoon, Tangkao and Lauren will lecture on the difference and importance of two fascinating subjects: core-initiated movements (CIM) and associated joint movements (AJM). Students will begin to learn the way these movements, when initiated from the core, can free blockages within the body. The second subject explored in lecture will be the relationship between the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) with diaphragmatic breathing and the pelvic floor. This lecture will compliment the understanding of CIM and AJM. In the evenings (after lecture), students will enjoy a 75-minute practice with Lauren in which spinal movements will be used in combination with a traditional vinyasa flow. Both of these classes will be accessible for all levels.
For yoga teachers who are registered with Yoga Alliance, this workshop will be worth 10 continuing education units (CEUs).
